Newton Gentry III currently serves as a contracting officer’s representative with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Washington, D.C. In this role, Gentry is responsible for advising contract officers and project managers on the effective use of resources to achieve program objectives.
Prior to joining the FAA, Gentry served as a senior supply chain program manager with Northrop Grumman Corporation and Raytheon Technologies. Over the last twenty years, Gentry has provided project management leadership and guidance on multimillion-dollar initiatives in commercial, defense and aviation business sectors supporting a broad range of airborne, ground based and underwater defense programs.
Gentry served on the Anne Arundel County (AAC) Community College Foundation Board, and the AAC American Red Cross and Multiple Sclerosis Society Board of Directors (BOD). In addition, Gentry received appointments from the AAC County Executive to serve on the Planning Advisory and Economic Development BODs. Most recently, Gentry was appointed to the AAC Community Action Agency and the St. Philip’s Episcopal Church BODs.
Gentry’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University, MA in Business Management from Central Michigan University and MBA from George Washington University. In addition, Gentry has obtained his Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.
Gentry is a life member of the NAACP, Michigan State University and Central Michigan University Alumni Associations. A native of Detroit, MI. Gentry is married, the father of two children and currently resides in Annapolis, MD.
