Barbora Kysilkova, a Czech artist and self-proclaimed "painting junkie" befriends Karl- Bertil, an artsy addict who stole two of her prized creations in this stranger-than-fiction story about empathy and new beginnings. To better understand his motives, Barbora invites him to her studio to be her model and to learn more about his troubled life. But everyone's perspective is flipped upside down when his drug-fueled self-destructive side yields disastrous results. Barbora learns that the decent criminal to whom she is deeply attached is not the only one who is damaged as each must face the demons of their past before they can create a meaningful future.
